How We Make Metal Business Cards
Every card is engraved in-house at our Calgary print shop with a dual-laser system and camera alignment, so your design is sharp, centred and consistent on every card.
Two Lasers, One Card
- Fibre laser (sharp and defined): delivers exceptional precision on metal, producing crisp lines, fine text and strong contrast. It is ideal for logos, lettering and patterns that need to look sharp.
- Diode laser (depth and dimension): heats the surface with fine control to create natural tones and gradients, subtle shades of grey that mimic light and shadow for a smooth, photo-like finish.
How the Gradient Effect Works
By controlling laser power, pulse frequency and engraving speed, we can produce a full tonal range, from soft brushed highlights to deep matte tones. We layer the two lasers in sequence: the fibre laser defines the shapes and text, and the diode laser builds the texture and greyscale depth. The finished card has a rich, dimensional look that catches the light.
Dual 49-Megapixel Camera Alignment
Before engraving begins, two 49-megapixel cameras locate the exact position of each card. They map the card’s edges in real time and automatically adjust the position and rotation of your artwork, so text and borders are never crooked. Whether you order 25 cards or 1000, your design looks the same on every one.

Prices are before tax. The more metal business cards you order, the lower the price per card: 25 single-sided cards work out to $2.80 per card, and 1000 work out to $1.00 per card.
